Library Services during Pandemic

The library building will be open regular hours beginning on Wednesday, March 10.

It really can't be said enough—your health, and the health of our employees—are our priority. And, every decision we make is through that lens as we apply state guidelines. As we progress through this phase, we’re working on the next phase to increase services.  We have a lot to tell you! Please scroll to get all the details.

Continue to use Curbside Pickup service if you prefer.

Curbside Pickup service is available during normal business hours.

You don't need to schedule Curbside Pickup pickup!  Just call us (201-384-1020) when you arrive.

Coming to visit? Here's what you need to know!

We ask all library patrons to:

  • Stay Home if You are Sick. If you or anyone in your household is sick or has symptoms, do not enter the library.

  • Wear a Mask. Wearing a mask that covers your mouth and nose is required to protect library staff and other patrons. If you don't have a mask, we'll give you one to keep.

  • Wash Your Hands. Frequent handwashing is your first line of defense against infection.

  • Required to sign-in. Your information will be deleted after 14 days.

  • Limit Your Stay. You can stay up to 15 minutes per visit. Toys and many furnishings are not available to facilitate a clean and sanitary environment. Library is open only for selecting, picking up, and borrowing library materials. The library service will be gradually expanded.

  • Follow Social Distancing. Keep 6 feet from library staff and other patrons. Follow staff guidance, posted signs, and floor markings to ensure adequate spacing. Patrons are not to congregate if you happen to run into your neighbor or friend while visiting the library.

  • Returning Library Materials: Patrons should return items into the library bookdrop.

  • Bathrooms: Public bathrooms are not available.

  • Meeting Room: All meeting rooms are closed. YA room is open to allow access to the materials  only.

  • Children’s Area: Children’s area is open for browsing and picking up materials in the room and for reference services from the Children’s Librarian.

  • Family Groups: Family members should stay together at all times. Parents with children ensure they maintain social distance with others that are not their parents.

  • Groups of Youth: Youth will not be allowed in the library simply to hang out with each other. Children age 10 or younger must be accompanied by an adult.

  • Tutoring: Tutoring is not permitted.

  • Computer Use: Computer use is available by appointment, up to 30 minutes. Only 1 computer is available.

  • All other patron rules remain in effect.
